If we are to meet the many challenges the world is facing, it is vital that we empower a generation of conscious and empathetic leaders, who are equipped to tackle society’s toughest challenges.
Started by Ed Kirwan (Creator of www.empathy-week.com and freelance filmmaker/photographer @ www.edkirwan.co.uk) Empathy Week is developing the empathy young people need today, to be able to transform the world tomorrow.
Set in the UK, Empathy Week starts today February 24th and goes till February 28th.
Even if you are not in the UK (which many folks in our community are not) everyone can benefit from the resources Ed and his team has put together.
Here’s how you can get started:
1. Watch The Video

Empathy is a critical skill. In its simplest form, it’s the understanding that someone else’s world is just as real as yours.
Empathy has the power to create meaningful connections beyond humans to all living beings, to the world we live in and to the natural world.
Empathy Week is more than just creating awareness and understanding. It’s about moving young people from ‘having empathy’ to ‘showing empathy’ – because once empathy is activated, compassionate action is the most logical response.
Let me know how you’ve joined in the Empathy Week movement! I would love to hear in the comments!
